Cyber Security Course in Amritsar
Cyber Security & Ethical Hacking — our cyber security course in Amritsar, 12 Weeks. Networking and Linux first, then web and network testing inside an isolated lab built on our own machines, then the defensive half: hardening, monitoring, incident response and writing the report.
Course Overview
Start with the boundary, because it is the part of this subject that is not negotiable. Everything offensive on this course happens inside a lab of virtual machines on our own network, against targets that exist to be broken. We do not teach anyone how to reach a system they have no written permission to touch, and a student who tries is off the course. Say that plainly in week one and the rest of the syllabus can be taught honestly.
The first three weeks are foundations, and they are the weeks people underestimate. How a packet actually travels — TCP/IP, ports, DNS, HTTP, TLS — watched in Wireshark rather than drawn on a board. Linux properly: shell, permissions, processes, services, logs. Then cryptography as it is used rather than as theory: hashing, symmetric and public key, certificates, and where each one fails.
Weeks four to six are web application security, because that is where most real findings are. The OWASP Top 10 walked through on an application running on your own machine: SQL injection done by hand and then closed with a parameterised query, cross-site scripting and CSRF with the headers and tokens that stop them, and broken access control — the dull one that turns up in almost every real test.
Then network testing: reconnaissance and scanning with Nmap, vulnerability assessment, reading CVEs and CVSS scores and telling genuine risk from scanner noise, exploitation in the lab, wireless, and the Active Directory concepts behind most corporate compromise. Social engineering is covered so that you can train people to resist it.
The last three weeks are the half that pays: hardening, patch management, least privilege, logging and monitoring, incident response, backups and ransomware readiness — then writing the report. Findings, evidence, severity, and remediation a developer can act on. If you are weighing up a cyber security course in Amritsar, ask how much of it is defence. Here it is about half, because that is roughly the ratio of the jobs.
Curriculum Blueprint
Weekly module breakdown covering networking and Linux foundations, web application security and the OWASP Top 10, network testing inside an isolated lab, and defence, monitoring and reporting.
- How a packet really travels: TCP/IP, ports, DNS, HTTP and TLS, traced live in Wireshark
- Linux for security work: shell, permissions, users, processes, services and where the logs are
- Lab: capture an hour of your own traffic and account for every protocol in it
- Building the lab: VirtualBox, isolated networking, Kali, and deliberately vulnerable targets
- Cryptography in practice: hashing, symmetric and public key, certificates, and how each one fails
- Lab: build the entire lab yourself — three virtual machines, an isolated network, and snapshots you can roll back to
- Authentication, authorisation, password storage and multi-factor — what breaks, and why
- The law and the line: authorised testing, scope, written permission, and what this course will not teach
- Lab: crack a set of password hashes you generated yourself, and record how long each scheme held out
Tools Covered
Prerequisites
- No formal prerequisite, but this is not a gentle course
- If you have never used a command line, Computer Basics first makes it easier
- A willingness to work inside the lab and never outside it
- A laptop with 8 GB RAM helps; our machines are already set up for it
Lab Access
- Isolated virtual lab on our own network
- Deliberately vulnerable targets to practise on
- Kali and Windows Server images provided
- Nothing on this course touches a system outside the lab

Common Questions
The things people ask us on the phone before they enrol — answered the same way we would answer them there.
There is no separate price for it. WebPrims charges one fee — ₹4,500 / month — and it covers any course in the catalogue, so the Cyber Security course works out at about 3 months — around ₹13,500 in total. No admission fee, no registration fee, and the certificate is included.
Monday to Saturday, with batches starting at 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Each slot runs up to two hours — sometimes a session finishes early, never late. That works out at roughly 144 hours of class time across the 12 Weeks. Pick whichever time fits around college or work, and move to another later if your timetable changes; it is the same Cyber Security syllabus in each. We are closed on Sunday.
12 Weeks of taught material, which is about 3 months of Cyber Security classes. That is the pace of the syllabus; how long you actually take depends on how often you turn up, and nobody is pushed to keep up with the batch.
None formally, though it is not a gentle course. If you have never used a command line, the first two weeks will be heavy — Computer Basics first would make it easier, and the fee is the same either way.
An isolated lab you built, a set of findings from testing it — injection, access control, misconfiguration — and a written report with evidence, severity and fixes a developer could act on.
We teach how attacks work, inside a lab of virtual machines that exists on our own network, against targets built to be broken. That is the only place any of it happens. We do not teach anyone to reach a system they have no written permission to touch, and a student who tries is off the course. Half the syllabus is the defensive side, because that is where the work is.
Realistically: SOC analyst, IT security support, and the security half of a sysadmin role — usually in Mohali, Chandigarh or remote, because Amritsar itself has few dedicated security posts. We make no employment guarantee. Certifications like CEH or Security+ sit naturally after this; the syllabus overlaps but we are not an exam centre.
Yes. Book a free demo class and sit in a real Cyber Security session — one that was running anyway, not a presentation arranged for you. Write some code on one of our machines, ask the students already in it what it is like, and decide afterwards. Nothing to pay and no obligation.
Something here not answered? Ask us directly or book a free demo class and put it to the Cyber Security mentor in person.
