QuickZack

An ultra-fast project launcher for developers

Every developer loses minutes a day hunting through folders for the project they want to open. QuickZack removes that: press Alt+Space anywhere, type a few letters, and the project opens in your editor.

It started as an internal tool — our own mentors were tired of digging through directories between classes — and grew into a free, open-source app for Windows and macOS.

  • Global Alt+Space shortcut that works from any application
  • Fuzzy search — type “rct” and it finds my-react-app
  • Auto-detects Node.js, PHP, Python, Rust, Go, Java and Git projects
  • Live Git status badges: clean, or unpushed changes waiting
  • Remote file explorer over SSH, with terminal and editor in one click
  • Runs quietly in the system tray, configured by a single JSON file
