Gutenberg blocks with block.json and React components. Responsive design with mobile-first CSS. You will build a custom theme from scratch with responsive design and custom post types by week 5.
E-commerce and plugins are where WordPress becomes a business platform. WooCommerce: product types, payment gateways, shipping, tax, and order management. Membership sites with subscriptions and content restriction. Custom plugin development with hooks, admin menus, settings API, and database tables. Security with nonces, capability checks, and data sanitization.
The final week is production deployment. Hosting selection: shared, VPS, or cloud. Staging environments and migration. SSL, firewall rules, login protection, malware scanning, and automated backups. CDN integration, image optimization, database cleanup, and caching. The capstone is a complete WordPress site with custom theme, WooCommerce, and production-level security. Eight weeks, and you can build and deploy professional WordPress websites.
